Whitney's Pumpkin Story--Copied from her November 6, 2007 E-Mail

The pumpkins were purchased from a farm in Onoma and were the smallest on the lot (but the biggest I've ever carved). About 6 or 7 of us got in on the action.

They are outside the Yakuba front door (the one near the Christmas tree) and are on a timer so they go on from 5-10. The light bulbs inside are powered by the AirDolphin. I think that while I was in Concord a rep. from the company came b/c they thought it was broken since it had stopped spinning. Turns out you need to use the electricity it generates and if you don't and it fills up it stops spinning. So, Sugihara-san rigged up some wires to power the jack 'o lantern lights. Reporters from both the Hakdoate and Hokkaido newspapers came and took photos that ran in their papers. Once we throw these away they want to find a way to use the AirDolphin's electricity
